Whichever TEATAZE blend you choose, we want to make sure you get the biggest energy boost and the best possible benefit from our tea. Here are a few tips to help you get the perfect cup of TEATAZE every single time.
1. First Things First!
Start clean. Make sure your kettle, teapot, and cups are scrupulously clean and free from residue. And if you’re using a teapot, warm the inside first with hot water, then pour it out.
2. Prepare Your Tea
For loose leaf tea, add 1-2 teaspoons of leaves (per 6-8 oz. of water) into a tea ball, teapot, reusable tea bag or strainer, then place into your teapot or cup. When using tea bags, use one per cup.
3. Prepare Your Water
Water matters. The colder and cleaner the water, the better your TEATAZE will taste. Since oxygen helps draw out flavors in tea, we recommend using filtered water. If you use tap water, we recommend running the tap for about 30 seconds before filling your kettle. If you prefer to use bottled water, simply shake the bottle for 30 seconds or so before heating.
How you prepare your water can have dramatic effects on different types of teas. Whatever your TEATAZE preference, make sure not to overboil the water, as that reduces oxygen and can make the tea taste flat.
(For optimal TEATAZE flavor, we recommend using a kettle rather than a microwave to boil your water)
4. Steeping Times
Although the optimal steeping time will be based on your preference of strength and flavor, here are a few general guidelines.
- American Breakfast 4-5 minutes
- Fresh Energy Herbal 4-5 minutes
- Power Puer 4-5 minutes
- Ignited Oolong 3-4 minutes
- Clean Green Energy 2-3 minutes
- Silver Tranquility 1-2 minutes
For milder TEATAZE flavor, shorten the brew time; for stronger flavor, increase the brew time.
5. Additional Tips
Stir gently to allow TEATAZE to fully flavor the water. Stir again after a minute or so.
Enhance if desired. While all TEATAZE blends are delicious on their own, some people may prefer additional sweetness or creaminess to their tea.
